Roland:  Need help for Roland A90/EX

29-Sep-05 (Reichen)

Original Message
Reichen.... Need help for Roland A90/EX (29-Sep-05  01:54AM )

- Can someone please help. I bought my A90 back in 1998. It had a VE-RD1 board in it when I bought it even though it is just an A90 and not an EX model. It has had very little use (approximately 48 hours total use) as I got caught up with my university studies. The problem is that I can no longer access all of the sounds. Before, I was able to move the data entry slider up and down and be able to play all of the sounds but now, even though I move the data entry slide control up and down or use the cursor buttons to select a sound, all I end up hearing is a piano sound. The numbers change on the left LCD screen when I move the slider up and down as well as when I press the increase and decrease buttons, but the right LCD screen just stays on the number '8' with some code letters. I've been in touch with the Roland company in Sydney, Australia and the technician there was very willing but unable to hepl me resolve the problem over the phone, despite several attempts at restting it. I never got a manual with it so I don't know where to begin. I can still hear the demo songs in it with no problems. Also, before when I turned it on to start it, two buttons in the 'zone' section would light up - EXT A and INT A. Now, when I start it up only the EXT A button lights up. If I press EXT B, C, OR D or press INT B, C OR D buttons in the 'zone' area, I get no other sounds like I used to before. All I get is piano. I realise this is a long message but I thought I'd try to explain the problem as best as I could. I'm desperate for some help as I really like this A90 and would like to try to enjoy it now that I have a bit more time to myself. Any help or suggestions would be greatly apreciated. Thank you. R.
