Plan B vs doepfer vs asys vs anlg solutions vco's (10-Sep-05 12:04PM

- Ok, so obviously my last post indicates that I have embarked on a eurorack (doepfer a100 g6)compatable modular project.
My first aquisition will be an ocillator or two. I like the idea of putting my own cem into the doepfer high quality vco. But the other guys have some cool ones too. The plan b complex vco looks, and sounds (according to the samples) like an awesome unit but costs twice as much as the doepfer. etc...
The nasty part about building a modular is that I don't get to try anything before I buy. I can listen to samples, but they really don't cut it for me.
So, my big question is whether anyone here would care to please give me advice or discuss what the best options for my first doepfer compatable vco would be. Or are they all pretty much the same?
Thanks a million!
