- Recently got a Yammy A3000 to go along my sequencer RM1x and synth AN1x.
I wanted to test my MIDI connection by doing something simple. Here's how i've set things up
RM1x Out --> A3000 In A3000 Thru --> AN1x In AN1x Out --> RM1x In
What i wanted to do now was to just play a drum loop on the sampler, and add a bassline to that, coming from the AN1x (AN1x-generated sound). I went for track 10 and 11 in the sequencer (RM1x), wanting to use the bass on 10 and drums on 11.
I realized i will need two different MIDI channels so i started looking into the midi settings in the sampler, turns out it was set for "omni on", which i guess means it accepts notes on any channel. I sett omni to OFF and instead set the sample program to use receive channel 11 (for example), but i cant get any sound from the sampler then.
On track 10 in the sequencer, i plan to use AN1x sounds, and the AN1x is set for receive channel 10 and local off so i guess that is the correct settings... it makes sounds.... but, as i said, the sampler only wants to participate in the game when omni is ON and then it makes noise on channel 10 too.
I realize this sounds a bit confusing. I havent dug realy deep into the sampler yet. Am reading the manual on these issues, but theres not too much troubleshooting.
So; basic question: in a small studio like mine, i always want the sampler in mode omni OFF, right?
Could i have configured the samples wrong in some way? I went for Edit mode and MIDI/Ctrl function, set the sample (i think) for channel #11.
Any ideas?
