- Hi folks,

I just got a Roland R-8m and it's giving me a lot of trouble. I'm trying to send midi signals into it and I can't seem to figure out how to set up the drum sounds. It's just stuck on this obnoxious xylophone patch and every midi note I send just triggers the xylophone at a different pitch. I'm really hoping to just set up a simple kit, with C triggering the Bass drum, D triggering the snare and E triggering the hi hat, etc. I've been staring at the manual for 3 hours and it's just not making any sense. Can anyone help?

- I have one actually. I have a cart for that one, which doesn't work. it may be only for the desktop unit. do you have the manual?
